FAQs

Do you offer payment plans? Yes, email us with what group you’re interested in and that you want a payment plan and we will set you up with one interest free.

How do the hybrid groups work? In the new hybrid style of group you'll have three in-person Saturday meetups and three virtual evening meetings over a three month period. We feel like the hybrid group is great because:

  • It won't take up every weekend.

  • We can serve everyone with weekday employment.

  • We don't have to brave the winter roads every week.

  • The groups are capped at seven members (or couples) so you get quality over quantity.

  • You still get great guidance from a licensed postpartum trained therapist.

  • You still get advice & valuable information from our specialized guest speakers.

  • The other parents in the group will still be in a similar area of town as you.

For the hybrid group, do I have my baby on the video call with me? No, the groups are scheduled in the evening either at 7:30 or 8pm, potentially after your child’s bedtime. It’s so hard to bond with new friends when corraling your child, the virtual evenings give us an opportunity to connect.

Are the in-person meet-ups with babies? Yes, we love having babies/ toddlers in the room so they can also socialize, however, if you rather go to the group without them, you are also welcome to. Most of our meetings are at libraries, so you can certainly grab a couple books to entertain them before the meeting.

How big are the groups? Minimum to run a group is 5 people (5 couples for the Parent Group). For the Hybrid groups, we cap at 7 people and for the in-person groups, we cap at 12 people.

Do you offer trial classes or makeup classes? Due to the specific ages of the babies in each class and the creation of a cohesive group setting, trial and makeup classes are not possible.

What should I do if I have to miss a class? It’s nice, although not required, to let your class leader know so that she may tell the class where you are.

Why do you need my baby’s date of birth? We believe we make stronger connections in our parent groups when your babies are similar ages. So we need your baby’s dob so we can get you in a group with other parents with babies of similar ages.

Do you refund for missed classes? We are not able to give refunds for missed classes. You are paying for your spot in the class and the ongoing community of friendship and support.

What if my baby is napping and I’m late for class? That’s no problem. You’re welcome to arrive (and leave!) at any time. Some parents are able to flex their baby’s nap a bit on class day by putting them down a little early or leaving the house early so they can nap in the car.

What if I decide I can’t attend the whole series? You have up until 10 days before the series starts for a full refund. Please email Contact@parentingavenue.com if you would like to cancel.

How often are their guest speakers and how long do they talk? You’ll have five to six guest speakers per eight week series. They will have 20-30 minutes at the end of the 75 minute session.

How do you pick the guest speakers? I don’t actually, you do. At the start of your series, you’ll decide as a group what topics you are interested in and I’ll schedule them to speak.

What if there is a snow storm? Each facilitator is prepared to take their in-person class online, you’ll get notified a couple hours before the group starts so you can stay safe at home.
